Southern Printmaking Biennale IX International 2020

The Southern Printmaking Biennale IX International 2020 is open to all artists 18 years and older working in traditional or non-traditional hand-pulled printmaking media. All fine art printmaking techniques, 2D or 3D, are eligible, including woodcut, relief, intaglio, lithography, screen-print, monotype, collagraph, and original digital media. All prints must be hand-pulled and generated using at least one traditional method.

Entry deadline is July 17, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entry fee is $35.00. Submissions must include 3-5 images uploaded via CAFÉ (www.callforentry.org). Images must be cropped to the edge of the print with no borders or text that is not part of the original print. Accepted artwork must be shipped to arrive by August 14, 2020. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. Artwork must be shipped in a reusable container via UPS, USPS, or FedEx with a prepaid return shipping label. Works without prepaid shipping labels are deemed donated to the UNG collection. 2D artwork must be shipped installation-ready with a hanging wire (no alligator teeth or sawtooth hangers) and PlexiGlass glazing only. No glass frames or Styrofoam peanuts in packaging. Artwork must include a label on the back with complete description information.

The exhibition runs August 21 - September 21, 2020. Jury notification is July 25, 2020. Awards include a one-person exhibition in 2021, a campus visit and lecture, the position of juror for SPB X International 2022, and inclusion in a 2024 retrospective exhibition of all 10 awards of top honor. The juror is Wes Beeler, a contemporary printmaker and 2018 Award of Top Honor recipient.
