Southern Miss National Poster Show

The University of Southern Mississippi Museum of Art presents the Southern Miss National Poster Show, a national juried exhibition showcasing original posters designed and created by artists, printmakers, and graphic designers from across the US. The show is open to both emerging and professional artists/designers, including students, professors, and practicing artists/designers. Entries must be original works completed within the past 5 years. There is no specific theme, and all types and styles of posters and poster designs are eligible. Printed posters may range in size up to a maximum of 40 inches.

Entry Deadline: November 27, 2022. Entry Fee: $35 for up to three entries. Up to 3 different poster designs may be entered. Each entry requires upload of 1 digital JPEG image (72 dpi, no more than 5 MB, no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side). Applicants must provide: name, title of entry, medium, size (W x H inches), year completed, and a brief artist statement about the work including information about the objective and intended audience of the poster design. Both monetary and non-monetary awards will be presented. The juror is Ann Willoughby, Principal Emeritus of Willoughby Design.

Selected posters will be displayed on paper only, without frames or mats, using a magnetic display system. Artists are responsible for all shipping and delivery costs. Posters should arrive January 9-13, 2023, or be hand-delivered by January 16. The exhibition runs January 26 - February 24, 2023, with a juror's lecture and closing reception on February 23. Notification of acceptance: December 16, 2022. The University of Southern Mississippi reserves the right to use images of selected artwork for marketing and publicity purposes without compensation. If COVID-19 or another pandemic or natural disaster causes temporary closing of the museum or disruption of the event, the exhibition will be moved to a fully online format.
