South Seattle Love

The Seattle Light Room is hosting the second annual South Seattle Love, a juried group photography exhibition. Photographers are invited to submit work that captures the spirit, emotion, and essence of Seattle's South End, including Rainier Beach, Seward Park, Columbia City, Hillman City, and beyond. Work does not need to be a literal depiction of a location; abstract, symbolic, or emotionally driven images that reflect a connection to the South End are welcome.

Submissions must be original work taken in South Seattle, with a minimum of 1 and maximum of 5 images per artist. Images must be in JPEG format with a maximum file size of 5 MB, named as lastname_firstname_imagename.jpg. The entry fee is $35. All ages and experience levels are encouraged to apply. AI-generated work is not eligible. Selected artists will be notified on August 4th, 2025.

Selected images will be exhibited at The Seattle Light Room gallery from September 4-27, 2025, with an opening reception on Friday, September 5th from 6-8 PM. Artists are required to attend the opening reception. Exhibition-ready work must meet specific framing requirements: simple frames with no ornate or brightly colored designs, white or natural museum board matting only, framing wire hangers, and a maximum frame size of 24 inches on the longest side. No watermarks or logos are permitted on printed images. Artists are responsible for delivery. The Seattle Light Room retains a 30% commission on all sales; all copyrights remain with the photographers. Selected artists must sign a limited liability agreement. Parental consent is required for applicants under 18.
