Sound in Visions: Music is the Muse

Auditory and visual art have often had a symbiotic, intertwining relationship. Both use composition, rhythm, harmony, texture, and movement to communicate. Each distinct expression sparks creativity within the other—highlighting, contrasting, even blending into one another. This exhibition will feature artwork influenced by, depicting, or incorporating items associated with music or musicians.

Eligibility is open nationally to artists of all backgrounds and ages. All mediums are welcome, and all work submitted should be display ready. No giclée prints of original art or non-photographic art will be accepted, and no AI-generated work is permitted. Artists may submit up to three pieces of original artwork made within the last two years. The suggested maximum dimensions are 4' x 4' x 4'; larger pieces require prior contact with the gallery. Submissions must include a brief artist statement (50-100 words) explaining the inspiration and significance of the artwork, and a short bio (100-150 words) highlighting background, artistic journey, and relevant experiences or achievements. The exhibition runs from Saturday, May 2 through Sunday, May 31, 2026, at ACCI Gallery in Berkeley, CA. Admission is free and open to the public. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, May 2. Art delivery is Sunday, April 26 (12-5pm) or Monday, April 27 (11am-5pm). Artwork pickup is Monday, June 1. The submission deadline is Sunday, March 22, 2026, with a $35 entry fee (ACCI members do not pay). All pieces in the exhibition must be for sale; artists receive 50% of the sales price and ACCI Gallery takes a 50% commission. An ACCI consignment agreement is required for all exhibiting artists. Image files must be in .jpg format with a minimum of 900 pixels on the long edge. Selected artists will be notified via email.
