About This Call
The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County and Ellington-White Contemporary Gallery invite artists of African descent to enter this Black Creativity Exhibition celebrating the essence of Black Joy, progress towards gender equality, and the future of Black popular culture through visual expression.
The six-week gallery exhibition will have two parts: a physical gallery exhibition and an online exhibition. All selected artworks will exhibit online, with the exhibition juror selecting certain works for the physical gallery display. The exhibition runs January 27 – March 4, 2023, with an artists reception on Friday, January 27th from 7–9 p.m.
Eligibility: Open to all artists of the African Diaspora. All work must be original and not previously exhibited at Ellington-White Contemporary, Arts Council Fayetteville, or in Cumberland County. Artists may submit a maximum of three original works completed within the last three years. All 2D and 3D works are accepted. Work size must be between 12" x 12" and 48" x 72" including frame. All works must be properly framed, wired, and ready to hang (no saw tooth hangers). Entry fee is $35.00 (non-refundable). Submissions are accepted via CaFE beginning November 12, 2022, through December 26, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Accepted works must arrive ready to install by January 21, 2023. Jurors include Shirley Woodson and Senghor Reid. Awards include cash awards and a People's Choice Award. A 30% commission applies to all sales, and all work must be available for purchase.
