About This Call
The 41st annual SOMI Art Fest is a juried two-day outdoor festival taking place February 21-22, 2026 on Sunset Drive in downtown South Miami from US1 to Red Road (57th Avenue). The festival is held the weekend after Presidents' Day in an area filled with historic buildings, restaurants and unique shops, just 3 miles south of Miami's Coconut Grove and bordering the University of Miami and upscale neighborhoods of Coral Gables and Pinecrest.
Started as a small show in 1984, the event has grown into one of Miami-Dade County's most anticipated festivals, staffed by dozens of friendly Rotary volunteers. The festival attracts a diverse group of art lovers with free public admission, live music throughout the weekend, and an international food court. Cash awards of at least $6,000 will be presented, including Best in Show ($1,750), Second Prize ($1,150), Third Prize ($850), and up to five Artists of Note awards ($450 each). Winners receive automatic acceptance for the following year.
Artists must exhibit original work in only one category: 3D Sculpture, Ceramics, Digital Art, Drawing/Graphics, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, or Wood. All booth spaces are 10' x 10' tents located on Sunset Drive. Standard booth fee is $450, with corner booths ($510) and endcaps ($600) available. The application requires 5 images including an outdoor booth shot, with a $35 non-refundable application fee. Artists must be present both days and comply with setup (6:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.) and breakdown requirements.
