Solo Shows at Locust Grove, 2022-2023

Locust Grove Estate is partnering with Barrett Art Center to offer four solo show opportunities in 2022-2023. Each 10-12 week show presents artists with the opportunity to exhibit a solo show of 20-30 artworks in the Transverse Gallery in the Visitor Center at Locust Grove, a National Historic Landmark museum, education center, and nature preserve which attracts over 90,000 visitors annually.

Solo shows are available for 2-D artwork. Accepted artwork must be properly mounted, framed and ready to hang from a track-type hanging system. Artwork may be either for sale or for exhibition only. If artwork is for sale, the artist receives 75% and the commission is 25%. The recommended number of works for display is 20-30 pieces, depending on size. Artists are encouraged to develop new works for this exhibition opportunity; submitted images do not necessarily have to be among the works exhibited.

Entry fee is $40 ($35 for Barrett Art Center Members). Application deadline is May 19, 2021. Exhibition dates are Spring 2022 – Spring 2023. Applicants must submit 10 images of their work. Locust Grove and Barrett Art Center will oversee marketing of the exhibition through press releases and mailing list announcements. Locust Grove will assist with on-site signage. The artist is responsible for any additional promotion. Please note the galleries are frequented by visitors of all ages, including school groups.
