Solo Shows 2019 at Locust Grove Estate

Locust Grove Estate, the Samuel F.B. Morse Estate, in partnership with Barrett Art Center, is offering four solo show opportunities in 2019. Each 10-12 week show presents artists with the opportunity to exhibit 20-30 artworks in the Transverse Gallery in the Visitor Center at Locust Grove, a National Historic Landmark museum, education center, and nature preserve that attracts over 90,000 visitors annually and has a strong record of solo show artwork sales.

Solo shows are available for 2-D artwork. Accepted artwork must be properly mounted, framed, and ready to hang from a track-type hanging system. Artwork may be either for sale or for exhibition only. If artwork is for sale, the artist receives 75% and the commission is 25%. Artists are encouraged to develop new works for this opportunity; submitted images do not necessarily have to be among the works exhibited. The galleries are frequented by visitors of all ages, including school groups, and artists' discretion is requested regarding content.

Application deadline is May 1, 2018. Entry fee is $45 ($35 for Barrett Art Center members). Submit 5-10 images of your work. Locust Grove and Barrett Art Center will oversee marketing through press releases and mailing list announcements, post the solo show on each organization's website, and assist with on-site signage.
