About This Call
Solo Show in The d'Art Center's Vault
Exhibit your work in a unique 132 square foot exhibition space—a historical bank vault located in the d'Art Center's NEON District location in Norfolk's Arts District. This opportunity is open to functional, non-functional, 2D, 3D, fine art, and fine craft in all mediums. The Vault can fit between 12-15 pieces depending on sizes. This solo show occurs during the d'Art Center's Second National Exhibition of Collage and Assemblage (Merged II) in the Main Gallery.
Show dates: Saturday, May 1st - Sunday, May 23rd, 2021. Entry deadline: April 1st, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notification of invitation by 5pm Friday, April 2nd, 2021. Accepted works must arrive by April 23rd, 2021. Entry fee: $45.00 for up to 20 works (one image per submission). Submit 5-20 images of your work. This is a juried opportunity judged by the d'Art Center gallery director and staff.
Work requirements: All work must be hang/presentation ready. The Vault can exhibit up to 15 works. If shipping, works cannot exceed 40 pounds or be longer than 60 inches in its longest dimension. All 3D works requiring presentation other than standard pedestals must include those items. Works requiring special installation must include clear instructions; complicated specialized installation must be completed by the artist. The gallery staff will take care handling artworks, but the d'Art Center is not responsible for damage. Artists should insure their work and purchase shipping insurance. Commission on sales is 60% artist, 40% d'Art Center. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the gallery and must provide pre-paid return labels through UPS or FedEx. Works should be shipped in reusable containers with no packing peanuts. Works without return labels or not picked up within one month after the exhibition ends become property of the d'Art Center. The d'Art Center will market the show through social media and patron base and provide invitational postcards/fliers. Optional opening reception packages are available ($250-$750, catered with ABC licensing).
