About This Call
H Gallery + Studios is a 10,000 square foot contemporary art space located in Ventura, California, between Malibu and Ojai. The gallery includes a 3,000 square foot exhibition space, a 2,700 cubic foot suspended installation area, and 20 work studios. H Gallery exhibitions run 6 to 12 weeks, while online exclusives vary from 3 to 6 months. Submissions are being reviewed for fall program and early 2023 exhibitions for both in-gallery and online exhibitions. Selected artists are invited to attend receptions, and a select few may be invited for recorded artist interviews or panel discussions.
Accepted artwork includes painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. All work must be original, unsold, and the artist must own sole copyright. 2D artwork must be ready to hang with professional quality frames, mats, and wiring. The number of pieces exhibited varies based on medium, size, and available wall space, with every artist able to exhibit a sizable body of work.
Entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with additional images at $5 each (maximum 20 images). An optional video consultation with the gallery director is available for $100, limited to 1 hour via Zoom. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. Shipments must include prepaid UPS or FedEx return labels and be in reusable containers; no packing peanuts are permitted. Gallery retains 50% commission on all sales. Payment to artists is provided within 60 days after the exhibit closes and receipt of full payment from the buyer. Notifications are sent via email generally within 2 weeks after the close of each calendar month. Selected artists receive immediate invitations for upcoming exhibitions, while waitlisted artists will be featured in at least one online exhibition within the calendar year.
