Solo Exhibition Opportunity in The d'Art Center Vault During Portrayed

The d'Art Center is seeking a solo artist to exhibit work in The Vault, a 132 square foot exhibition space housed in a historical bank vault within the d'Art Center in Norfolk's NEON Arts District. The Vault is adjacent to the Main Gallery and can accommodate 12-15 pieces depending on work sizes. All styles and aesthetics are considered, and the space is open to functional, non-functional, 2D, 3D, fine art, and fine craft in all mediums.

This solo exhibition opportunity occurs during the center's national exhibition, Portrayed, an annual open medium juried exhibition of original and unique 2D and 3D portraiture artworks. Proposed solo shows do not have to fit the Portrayed theme, though artists are welcome to propose work based around it. The Vault artist is selected through an open call and jury process that includes d'Art Center staff, professional artists, and gallery manager Amanda Bradley. The exhibition runs Saturday, July 2 - Saturday, July 30, 2022, with a reception on Friday, July 8, 2022, 5:30-7:30pm.

Submission fee is $45.00 for up to 20 works. Artists must submit 10-20 images via Call for Entries (CaFE). Work cannot exceed 50 pounds or 60 inches in its longest dimension and must be hang/presentation ready. All work must arrive by Saturday, June 25, 2022 (or hand-delivered by pre-arrangement). Notifications will be sent by email by 5pm Monday, June 13, 2022. The d'Art Center retains a 60/40 commission on sales (60% artist, 40% gallery). Artists are responsible for shipping costs and must provide pre-paid return labels via UPS or FedEx. The gallery does not cover damage during shipping; artists should insure their work. This opportunity is open to all artists 18 or older residing in the United States.
