Solo Exhibition Opportunity in The d'Art Center Vault During Flourish

The d'Art Center is seeking one artist for a solo exhibition in The Vault, a 132 square foot exhibition space housed in a historical bank vault within the d'Art Center in Norfolk's NEON Arts District. The Vault is adjacent to the Main Gallery and can accommodate 12-15 pieces depending on work sizes. All styles and aesthetics are considered, including functional and non-functional work in 2D, 3D, fine art, and fine craft in all mediums.

This solo show opportunity occurs during Flourish, a national exhibition of floral and botanical artworks from across the country. Work must depict flowers and/or plants to be considered, though works can include other objects as long as the focal point focuses on floral or botanical elements. Proposed solo shows do not have to fit the Flourish theme, but artists are welcome to propose work based around it. The d'Art Center is partnering with the Historic Garden Club of Norfolk during Historic Garden Week, with the Flourish opening reception on Thursday, April 28, 2022, 5:30-7:30pm. Local Garden Club Members will select 6 artworks from the exhibition to create flower arrangements inspired by the work.

The exhibition runs Saturday, April 23 - Saturday, May 21, 2022. Artists must submit 10-20 images of their work via Call for Entries (CaFE) with a $45 entry fee. The deadline is March 27, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Selected artists will be notified by email by 5pm on Monday, April 4, 2022. Work must not exceed 50 pounds or 60 inches in its longest dimension and must arrive by April 16, 2022 if shipped. All work must be hang/presentation ready. The d'Art Center takes a 60/40 commission on sales (60% artist, 40% d'Art Center). Artists are responsible for shipping costs and must provide pre-paid return labels through UPS or FedEx.
