About This Call
Inspiration Plus and the Southampton Arts Center sponsor the Solar Impressions Juried Exhibition celebrating solarplate printmaking. The exhibition will launch at the Southampton Arts Center in Southampton, NY and may travel to additional venues in 2020.
The exhibition is open to all original print work with emphasis on the solar plate polymer plate process. There is no size limitation, though shipping regulations may apply restrictions. Reproductions of pre-existing drawings, paintings, and other works of art are not eligible. Each artist may submit up to three images for a $40 entry fee. Submissions are accepted through CaFE at www.callforentry.org. Entrants under 18 must submit a permission form signed by a parent or guardian.
Each selected work must be delivered framed with Plexiglas and wired for hanging, with the exception of accepted foreign works which will be handled accordingly. Selected works must include the name of the work, date, and a full description of materials used including ink types and brands, polymer plates, printing paper, transparencies, and other important ingredients. All selected work will be available for sale at prices set by the artist, with the artist receiving 50% of the selling price, less taxes. The exhibition runs November–December at the Southampton Arts Center, with a VIP opening on November 15 at 6-8 PM. Additional events include portfolio sessions, demonstrations, panel discussions, and a community reception on November 16-17.
