About This Call
Sohn Fine Art Gallery is accepting photography submissions for the 2016 5th Annual Juried Photography Exhibition. Any genre of photography can be submitted and all photographic mediums are eligible. Approximately 20 pieces of artwork will be accepted into the show.
The exhibition will be judged anonymously by John R. Stomberg (Virginia Rice Kelsey 1961s Director of the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College), Jan Nagle (Program Associate at Center for Photography at Woodstock), and Hannah Blunt (Assistant Curator at Mt. Holyoke College Art Museum). The 1st Place Winner will be awarded a $500 scholarship to use towards a Master Artist Series workshop(s) of their choice. The People's Choice Award Winner will receive one 17" x 25" archival pigment print of their own work, produced by Sohn Fine Art, on a substrate of their choice. 2nd and 3rd place winners receive honorable mention.
Submissions must be made through CaFÉ (Call for Entry.org). Submit up to 12 images in digital format as jpeg files with a resolution of 72 ppi and a dimension of 1920 pixels on the long side, not exceeding 5 MB. The filename must include the first letter of your last name and the title of the piece. Entry fee is $25. Submission deadline is March 11, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Accepted artists will be notified by March 18, 2016. The exhibition runs April 24 – May 30, 2016, with a reception on Saturday, May 7, 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. where winners will be announced. Accepted work must be exhibition quality, framed, ready to hang, and dropped off at the gallery by April 10. The gallery is located at 69 Church Street, Lenox, MA. Artists are responsible for removing any unsold work at the end of the exhibition. Sohn Fine Art splits sales commissions 50/50 with artists, and 50% of the gallery's commission is donated to the Master Artist Series Program.
