About This Call
The Sodus Point Lighthouse Artisan Festival is a juried fine art and craft event produced by the Sodus Bay Historical Society, created to showcase original work by artists and fine crafters. Held on the scenic grounds of the historic Sodus Bay Lighthouse—first built in 1824 and rebuilt in 1871—the festival takes place at an actively preserved lighthouse and museum overlooking Lake Ontario. The festival has grown from 18 artists in its inaugural year to approximately 40 exhibitors, maintaining a curated scale that emphasizes quality and engagement.
The festival is held on the grassy grounds of Lighthouse Park, adjacent to the historic lighthouse. The grounds are mostly level with some slight slopes; no booths are placed in sloped areas. Standard booth size is 10' × 10', with a limited number of 10' × 20' booths available. Electricity is not available at booth locations, but Wi-Fi will be available on the festival grounds. The festival takes place Friday, July 31 – Sunday, August 2, 2026, rain or shine. Artist check-in and booth setup occur Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The festival is open to the public Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Professional overnight security will be provided Friday and Saturday nights.
Applications are accepted from artists and emerging artists. A $35 application fee is required. Applicants must submit 6 images, including a booth shot. Up to 2 applications per artist are permitted. The application deadline is June 1, 2026, with notification of jury decisions on June 6, 2026. Insurance is required for participation. Artists must be present in their booth during all public festival hours. Booths must be fully set and staffed by opening times each day. No booth breakdown is permitted before 5:00 PM on Sunday. Artists are responsible for setup, breakdown, and cleanup of their booth area and must arrive prepared with heavy-duty, clear plastic coverings and clamps to protect work in rain, with a minimum of 40 pounds of weight on each tent leg for wind stability.
