Sodus Point Lighthouse Artisan Festival 2025

The Sodus Point Lighthouse Artisan Festival, part of the Sodus Bay Historical Society, is a juried event dedicated to showcasing artists and fine crafters in a truly unique setting. Held on the scenic grounds of the historic Sodus Point Lighthouse, the festival celebrates creativity while honoring the region's rich maritime history. Perched on a bluff overlooking Lake Ontario, the lighthouse was first built in 1824 and rebuilt in 1871, providing an inspiring backdrop for artists and visitors alike.

The festival has grown significantly since its inaugural year, expanding from 18 artists to space for 40 exhibitors. Last year, attendees traveled from as far as Buffalo and Albany to experience this celebration of fine art and craftsmanship. The festival takes place August 1-3, 2025, with artist check-in and setup on Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, followed by a preview party for Historical Society members from 6:00-9:00 PM. The public festival runs Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Booth spaces are 10x10 for $200 or 10x20 for $400, located on the grassy grounds of Lighthouse Park. Artists must provide their own tents, tables, and display items, with all setups requiring secure weighting or staking. A Best of Show award entitles the winner to a free booth the following year. Professional security patrols overnight, and shuttles are available from the village parking lot. The application requires 6 images and a booth shot, with no application fee. Applications are due May 29, 2025, with jury results announced June 9, 2025.
