Society of Watercolor Artists - International Watermedia Juried Exhibit

This exhibition is open to all artists at least 18 years old. Work must be completed in the last 3 years (after March 1, 2011) and done on watercolor paper or yupo. Acceptable media includes watercolors, acrylics, inks, or gouache. Work must be original and not produced under supervision in a class or workshop. No giclees, reproductions, or nudes are accepted. Art that has previously appeared in a juried SWA exhibition is ineligible. All works must be available through the entire run of the show and not sold or shown elsewhere during the exhibition.

Entry fees are $35 for current SWA members (use coupon code swa2014ie for $10 discount) or $45 for non-members. One to three digital images may be submitted via CaFÉ. The juror is Steve Rogers, NWS, AWS, TWSA. Awards totaling $4,000 in cash and merchandise will be selected at the juror's discretion, with only one award allowed per artist (except the People's Choice Award). Notification of acceptance will be announced by email and the CaFÉ website by March 20.

Size limitations: minimum 10" x 12", maximum 42" including frame. Frame cannot exceed 2" width. Plexiglass glazing (no glass) is required. Art must be ready to hang by wire, no saw-tooth hangers. A simple white mat is required; double mats, floated work, filets, colored lining, or colored backboards are not allowed. Diptychs/triptychs constitute one painting and must be framed as such. Accepted works will be displayed in the Atrium Gallery of the Fort Worth Central Library. Hand-delivery is available April 19, noon-2pm. Shipped works must arrive April 10-16 and include a $40 receiving and handling fee. Pickup for hand-delivered work is June 21, noon-2pm. SWA will handle all sales and retain a 20% donation.
