Society of Watercolor Artists - 2025 International Juried Exhibition

The Society of Watercolor Artists invites international artists to submit original watercolor paintings for the 2025 International Juried Exhibition, running May 7-28, 2025. The exhibition features $6,000 in cash and merchandise prizes, with juror Michael Holter (AWS, NWS, AIS, TWSA). Entry fees are $45 for SWA members and $55 for non-members. Artists may submit up to three paintings, with a maximum of one accepted per artist.

Artwork must be original water-media (watercolor, acrylic, ink, or gouache) on watercolor paper or Yupo, completed within the last three years and not previously shown in any SWA juried exhibition. Photographs used as reference must be taken by the submitting artist. AI-generated reference material or artwork is not permitted. Disqualified work includes collage, nudes, workshop pieces, copies of other artists' work, and digital reproductions. All accepted paintings must be framed (no glass, acrylic or plexiglass only) with minimum framed size of 15 inches and maximum of 42 inches in any direction, with no painting smaller than 100 square inches. Frames cannot exceed 2 inches on each side, and all work must be matted with white or off-white matting with a minimum 2-inch visible mat. Work must hang by wire using D-rings or metal hardware.

All entries are required to be listed for sale. House of Neville Gallery withholds 30% commission on sales. Shipped paintings require a $20 handling fee. Accepted entries receive a complementary catalog. The exhibition is open to artists 18 years and older. For questions, contact [email protected].
