About This Call
The Society of North American Goldsmiths Educational Endowment Scholarship supports students pursuing jewelry and metals education. Applicants must be enrolled in a Jewelry or Metals program for the upcoming year. The scholarship is not limited to university programs; community college programs are eligible.
Awards will be based on the strength of applicants' work, intended course of study, academic achievement, and letter of recommendation. Winners will be notified by the end of May 2011.
Applications must include: one transcript (only award recipients will need to submit upon completion of jurying), a resume with name, address, contact information, educational history, work history, awards, exhibitions, and other scholarships received, a one-page artist statement, a maximum of 8 digital images with a minimum of 5 images of at least 4 completed pieces, reference information for one letter of recommendation, and a confidential signed and sealed letter of recommendation mailed separately. The letter of recommendation must be postmarked no later than March 15, 2011 and mailed to: James Viste, C.C.S., 201 East Kirby, Detroit, MI 48202-4034.
