Society of North American Goldsmiths: Animal Instincts

"Animal Instincts" is the 2014 Juried Exhibition in Print by SNAG, produced by Metalsmith magazine. The exhibition showcases a diverse range of animal-related work from the metalsmithing field. Works may be about animals, of animals, or for animals.

Eligibility: Open to all SNAG members 18 years of age or older, including jewelers, designers, metalsmiths, and students. Applicants need not reside in the United States. All work must be original and produced within the last three years (2010 or later). Objects made from commercial kits or commercially available plans are not eligible. Applicants are strongly encouraged, but not required, to apply with images that have not been widely circulated in Metalsmith or other publications.

Requirements: Entry fee is $35 (non-refundable). Applications must be received by midnight Mountain Time on January 31, 2014. Submit both a detail and general shot of your original work. Artists may submit up to 2 applications to show 2 separate pieces. All works must be accompanied by title, material, dimensions, and year of completion. Submit an artist statement (1000 character limit) and a one-page resume. By submitting images, the artist agrees that Metalsmith magazine and SNAG have the right to retain and duplicate these images for marketing, publishing, and display on the SNAG website and e-newsletters, with no compensation required. Notification by email will be sent by February 28, 2014. High-quality jpegs of accepted work are due March 10, 2014. The exhibition will be published in Metalsmith magazine in August 2014.
