Small Works Show - The Rice Gallery of Fine Art

The Rice Gallery of Fine Art is accepting submissions for its 6th Annual National Juried Show with the theme SMALL WORKS (14 inches and under). The Best of Show Prize is $1,500. Submissions must be original paintings with the painted surface sized no more than 14 inches at its longest dimension. Artists may submit 1 to 5 images of their best original paintings to be judged on an individual basis. All subjects and painting styles are welcome. The entry fee is $35 (non-refundable). The submission deadline is March 1st, 2021.

All selected paintings will be exhibited and promoted for sale both in person and online at The Rice Gallery of Fine Art in Overland Park, KS. The exhibition opens to the public on Friday, March 26th, 2021. All selected works will be included in The Rice Gallery's online store and promoted via Facebook and Instagram throughout the exhibition. All paintings selected for exhibition are eligible for cash prizes including the $1,500 Best of Show Cash Prize. Prize winners will be announced on or after the day the show opens to the public, with prize money paid via check mailed to the address provided in the artist's application.

All artwork must be completely dry, framed, wired securely, and ready to hang. Canvases must be framed or museum wrapped with finished/painted edges and wired to hang. Works on paper and mediums prone to smearing must be protected under glass or plexi-glass. Selected works must be received by The Rice Gallery by Monday, March 22nd, 2021. Artists are responsible for all shipping expenses and shipping insurance. All shipments must be sent "SIGNATURE REQUIRED." Local drop-off and pickup by appointment is available. All selected paintings are considered consigned inventory and must be for sale. The Rice Gallery collects a 45% commission on any paintings sold during the exhibition.
