Small Works: SDA at 40

Small Works: SDA at 40 is an exhibition of works by members of the Surface Design Association in conjunction with the Surface Design Association's 2017 40th Anniversary Biennial Conference Making Our Mark: SDA at 40, held August 3-6, 2017 in Portland, Oregon. The exhibition runs August 1-15, 2017 at Oregon College of Art & Craft. This is an open, non-juried call for exhibition; all submitted works meeting the guidelines will be accepted.

Eligibility is open to all Surface Design Association members 18 years of age or older. Each entry must be original work completed after June 2015 and must be constructed, printed, dyed or otherwise embellished using any textile technique or process. Participants must submit one piece measuring 12 inches square as the finished outside dimensions, mounted on a stretched canvas measuring 12 inches by 12 inches by 1.5 inches deep, prepared for hanging with eyehooks and wire across the back, and include a label on the back with artist name, contact information, and title. The entry fee is $30. Work must be shipped to arrive between July 5 and July 14, 2017. The submission deadline is June 23, 2017.

Awards will be determined by juror Marci Rae McDade based on visual interest, craftsmanship and innovation. Joy Stocksdale Best in Show: $500; Second Place: $300; Third Place: $100.
