Small Works Exhibition 2018

The Small Works Exhibition is Art Works Downtown's annual exhibition designed to provide quality artwork for sale to the holiday gift buying public and to exhibit a large quantity of artists. The juror is Cameron Brian, Owner and Director of Transmission Gallery in Oakland, California.

Eligibility and Requirements: Open to all visual arts media. SF Bay Area artists only (artist must live within 100 miles from San Rafael, California). Artwork must not exceed 18"x18"x18", including frame and all materials. Original artwork only—no giclees or reproductions. Submissions must not have previously exhibited in the AWD 1337 Gallery. Artwork must be for sale. Video submissions must include player, monitor, and earphones; projections are prohibited. Submissions must be made through callforentry.org only; hardcopy, email, or disk submissions will not be accepted. Entry fee is $40 for up to 3 entries, with discounts available for AWD Artist Members.

Timeline and Delivery: Entry deadline is October 26, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notification by email will be sent November 2-3. Accepted entries must be hand-delivered to Art Works Downtown, 1337 Fourth Street, San Rafael on November 10, 1pm-4pm. All work must be ready for installation with wall-hung work securely wired. Artists must deliver an artist statement and resume and sign a consignment agreement upon delivery. The reception is December 14, 5-8pm. Unsold artwork pickup is January 3-5, 11am-3pm. Artists who do not retrieve their work will be charged a storage fee of $3.00 per day; works remaining after 30 days become property of Art Works Downtown. Art Works Downtown accepts a 40% donation upon sale. Sales will be paid to artists at the end of the exhibition.
