Small Works Exhibition 2017

The Small Works Exhibition is Art Works Downtown's annual exhibition designed to provide quality artwork for sale to the holiday gift buying public and to exhibit a large quantity of artists.

Eligibility and Requirements: Open to all visual arts media. SF Bay Area artists only (artist must live within 100 miles from San Rafael, California). Artwork must not exceed 18"x18"x18", including frame and all materials. Original artwork only—no giclees or reproductions. Submissions must not have previously exhibited in the AWD 1337 Gallery. Artwork must be for sale. Video must include player, monitor, and earphones; projections are prohibited. Entry fee is $40 for up to 3 entries, with discounts provided for AWD Artist Members. Submissions require 1-6 work samples (images and/or video).

Timeline and Details: Entries are due by October 28 at 11:59 p.m. MDT via CallForEntry.org. Notification by email will be sent November 3-4, with separate emails for accepted and rejected works. Accepted entries must be hand-delivered to Art Works Downtown, 1337 Fourth Street, San Rafael, between 1-4 p.m. on November 11. The opening reception is December 8, 5-8 p.m. Unsold artwork can be picked up January 6, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Art Works Downtown accepts a 40% donation upon sale. Sales are processed through the gallery, with payment to artists at the end of the exhibition. Artists who do not retrieve unsold work will be charged a storage fee of $1.00 per day; works remaining after 30 days become property of Art Works Downtown. The gallery will be closed December 25-30.
