Small Works 2026

Strata Gallery invites artists from all backgrounds to submit artwork for "Small Works," a juried exhibition celebrating small artworks that invite viewers to explore the intricacies of minute details. All media is welcome, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, textiles, and mixed media. Artwork must not exceed 16 inches in any dimension, including frame. The exhibition will run from January 6-23, 2026, at Strata Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with a reception on January 9, 2026, from 5-7pm.

Submissions must include 3-6 artwork JPGs, an artist statement and biography (100-125 words, 1000 character limit), and an optional CV. All artwork must be hang/display ready with proper hardware. The entry fee is $35 for the first three submissions, with an additional $5 per submission for up to three more submissions (maximum 6 total). The submission deadline is October 1, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists will be notified on November 1, 2025.

Three prizes will be awarded: $100 for President's Choice, $100 for Director's Choice, and $100 for Assistant Director's Choice. Selection criteria include completeness of application, uniqueness and originality, visual impact, and demonstrated excellence of technique. Each artist handles the sale and shipping of sold artwork; Strata Gallery collects buyer information and charges a 20% commission on sales. Artwork must remain available for the duration of the exhibition.
