Small Works

The MVA Gallery invites artists, photographers and sculptors of all levels to submit original artwork to this exhibition celebrating small works. The gallery proclaims the virtues and pleasures of smallness, as small works can reflect big ideas, big visions and big talent. Artists are invited to submit art — traditional or non-traditional — no longer than 18 inches on the longest side. This exhibit has no restrictions on subject matter or style. The MVA Gallery accepts painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, pastel, encaustic, sculpture, fiber, ink, drawing and photography.

Eligibility: This is a National Call for Entries inviting artists, photographers and sculptors from all regions and states. Artists must be 18 years of age or older and current residents of the United States. Exhibition dates are May 9 – June 6, 2026. Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 images, with additional files available for $5.00 each up to a total of 9 maximum. Notification to artists will be on or about March 18, 2026 by email.

Awards include an Art of Distinction Award featuring one selected artist in a special exhibit at the MVA Gallery; one New York City Exhibition opportunity for an artist selected from all accepted artists displayed in MVA Gallery exhibits during the past calendar year; and a Director's Choice Award of $200 that may be granted at the discretion of the Executive Director. Artists can determine whether they wish to sell their artwork, with commission fees of 70% to the artist and 30% to the gallery. The MVA Gallery is located at 35 E.
