Small Wonders

This exhibition celebrates the beauty, mystery, and significance of the microscopic, the miniature, and the overlooked. We invite works that magnify the unnoticed and reveal worlds within worlds. Artists are encouraged to explore scale, detail, and viewpoint. Join us in remembering that even the tiniest details can hold vast meaning. All media are welcome, though no giclée prints of original art/non-photographic art will be accepted and no AI work is permitted.

Eligibility is limited to original works created by artists residing in Northern California, defined as the following counties: Alameda, Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, Contra Costa, Del Norte, El Dorado, Glenn, Humboldt, Lake, Lassen, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, Merced, Modoc, Mono, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Tuolumne, Yolo, Yuba. Entry fee is $15 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry, with a maximum of 8 entries. All fees are non-refundable.

Accepted work must be delivered ready to hang or display and fitted with framing wire (no sawtooth hangers). The exhibition runs from March 19 through May 3, 2026, with an opening reception on March 20. All exhibited artworks must remain in the exhibition until closing. The museum's exhibition committee, comprised of professional artists and art collectors, will make final selections, with jury results notification by February 15, 2026.
