Small Matters 2018

Small Matters is a national juried exhibition hosted by 437CO, Colorado Mesa University Art Gallery in Grand Junction, Colorado, running December 7, 2018 - January 25, 2019. The exhibition is open to all US-based artists 18 years of age and older working in 2D and 3D media. Works are limited to 18" x 18" x 18". Entries must be original works created within the last five years and not previously exhibited at the CMU Art Gallery. Artists may submit up to three works for a $35 entry fee. All forms of 2D and 3D art are accepted including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, graphic and digital art, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, fiber, and metal arts.

Accepted works will be exhibited at 437CO in downtown Grand Junction. The exhibition will be juried by Jared Steffensen, artist and Curator of Exhibitions at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. There will be $1,000 in prize money awarded: 1st Place $500 and a solo exhibition at the gallery in fall 2019 or 2020; 2nd Place $300; 3rd Place $200. Sales are encouraged, with 437CO retaining a 30% commission on all sales.

Submissions must be completed on CaFÉ with JPEG files. Entries are due October 1, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notifications will be sent November 1. Shipped works must arrive by November 26-30, and works delivered in person must arrive Friday, November 30 or Saturday, December 1 (12-5pm). All accepted works must be accompanied by a signed loan agreement and must arrive exhibition-ready with hanging wire. Artists must insure their work during transit and for the duration of the exhibition. 437CO is not liable for damage during transit.
