Small Expressions 2025

Small Expressions is a juried small works exhibit designed to encourage art purchases for the gift-giving season. Open to artists in all media, selected artworks shall not exceed 16" in any direction, including frame and mount. All submitted works must be for sale. A $500 Jurors' Choice Award will be presented.

Artworks will be juried online from submitted images. The exhibit will be held at Northwind Art's Jeanette Best Gallery in downtown Port Townsend from November 20, 2025 through January 5, 2026. When work is sold, it will be removed immediately and replaced with a new work. Selected artists will have one to three artworks displayed at a time, with a few pieces in backstock ready to replace sold items. Artwork will be chosen by a panel of Northwind Art curators including local artists Margaret Woodcock and Diane Urbani, as well as staff members from the Northwind Art exhibits team, judging quality, professionalism, and sales potential. A maximum of seven entries may be submitted per artist. Submitted digital images should represent the quality and nature of the work; work that is considerably different than submitted images may not be accepted. Artists must submit one image per artwork showing it in its entirety.

Entry fee is $35 for up to seven entries (non-refundable). All accepted artwork must be delivered in person to Jeanette Best Gallery at 701 Water Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368 between November 13-17, 12:00pm-5:00pm. Northwind Art will not accept shipped artwork nor will ship unsold work back to artists. Accepted artists will be notified via email on November 3. If work sells, Northwind Art will pay artists a wholesale price equal to 50% of the retail selling price. A Saturday ArtWalk public reception is scheduled for December 6, 5:00pm-8:00pm. Unsold artwork may be picked up January 6, 10:00am-3:00pm. Every piece must have a label affixed to the back with artist name, artwork title, and price.
