Small Expressions 19: A Juried Exhibit of Small Works

Small Expressions is an annual juried exhibit of small works designed to encourage art purchases for the gift-giving season. The exhibition is open to all media, including jewelry. Entries must be original, entirely the work of the entrant, and executed within the last three years. No work shall exceed 15" in any direction, including frame and mount. A maximum of five entries may be submitted per artist.

Awards include a $500 Juror's Choice Award, three $300 Merit Awards, and a $100 post-exhibit People's Choice Award. The juror is Jeff Olson, a Seattle-based artist with an MFA in painting and drawing from Washington State University and over twenty-five years of professional practice. Entry fees are $30 for up to five entries plus a $5 media fee (non-refundable). Submitted digital images should represent the quality and nature of the work; work that is considerably different from submitted images may not be accepted. Artists must submit one image per artwork showing the artwork in its entirety.

The exhibition runs December 4-27, 2020, with hours Friday-Sunday 12:00-5:00 p.m. or by appointment. Notification of acceptance will be sent by November 12, 2020. Shipped work must arrive between November 23-28, 2020. In-person drop-off is available November 29-30. Buyers can take work after the opening weekend. A juror's talk is scheduled for December 6 (in-person or online, TBD). Artwork must have a label affixed to the back with artist name, phone, artwork title, medium, and price.
