Small Bites - Small Works 2018 (Juried Photographic Exhibition)

Small Bites, Small Works 2018 is a national juried photographic exhibition welcoming entries of photographic-based works about food. Interpretations include work depicting food from seed to consumption, farm to table, fields or trees, food from nature, artistic still lifes, commercial settings, the art of cooking, art of the table, social or political themes, chef's kitchens, desserts, harvests, abstract, or representational work.

This competition is open to national artists and photographers 18 years or older. All works must be framed in white with a maximum size of 12x12 inches or smaller. Fifty works will be chosen for the exhibit. The entry fee is $40 for up to three works. The digital submission deadline is October 22, 2018. Accepted artists will be notified by October 27, 2018. Framed works must arrive at the gallery between November 14-16, 2018. The exhibition runs from November 24, 2018 through January 21, 2019, with an opening reception and awards presentation on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 6-8pm.

The juror is Jim Lennon, a professional commercial photographer with over 42 years of experience in advertising photography. Awards include participation in the exhibition, a Grand Prize of "A Day in the Studio with Jim Lennon" in Hauppauge, New York, First Place ($300), Second Place ($200), and Third Place ($100). All accepted works must be available for the duration of the exhibit and must be for sale. The artist receives 50% commission on sold works, with Alex Ferrone Gallery receiving 50%, net less credit card fees. Unsold works must be picked up between January 24-26, 2019. Shipping to and from the gallery is the artist's responsibility.
