About This Call
Blaine Art Gallery invites submissions for its inaugural juried exhibit celebrating small 2D and 3D artwork. This competition is open to artists residing in WA, OR, ID, WY, MT, NV, CA, UT, AZ, CO, and NM. 2D artwork must not exceed 24" on the longest side (including frame), and 3D artwork must not exceed 15" in any dimension. Acceptable media includes painting, photography, mixed media, sculpture, printmaking, and ceramics. Artwork submitted must not be copied and must be the same work represented by submitted digital images. All artwork accepted must be for sale.
Entry fee is $30.00. Submit 1-3 digital images of your work. The entry deadline is September 3, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notification of acceptance will be sent September 10th. Drop-off and shipping dates are September 11th through October 6th. The opening reception is October 11th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the exhibition running October 11th through November 8th. Pick-up dates are November 9th and November 13th-16th from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Return shipping dates are November 14th and 15th.
Cash prizes are awarded: 1st place $300 and 2nd place $200. Jurors are Nanci Price Scoular, a mixed media artist with an MFA in Creative Inquiry from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and Marc Aronson, an abstract painter with a PhD from NYU whose work has been exhibited internationally and is held in collections including Time Warner, Inc. and the King County Library System. For drop-offs, visit Blaine Art Gallery, 922 Peace Portal Dr., Blaine, WA 98230 (Thursdays-Sundays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.). For shipping, send artwork to Blaine Arts Council, c/o Margaret Owens, 5620 Sanderling Way, Blaine, WA 98230. Include a pre-paid return label and an artwork label with your name, title, materials, and price.
