About This Call

Small and Smaller is a juried exhibition at Site:Brooklyn Gallery in Brooklyn, New York, running September 20–October 20, 2019. The exhibition invites artists to create work that explores intimacy and beauty on a miniature scale, countering the contemporary art world's emphasis on large-scale installations and monumental works. Site:Brooklyn is seeking works across all mediums including painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, video, and multimedia.

This exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age or older working in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, collage, photography, video, and multimedia. The entry fee is $35.00 for up to three images, with an additional $10.00 for each additional image (maximum 12 images total, or up to 3 videos). The final submission deadline is August 7, 2019 at 11:59 PM MT. Accepted artists will be notified on August 15, 2019. The opening reception is Friday, September 20, 2019 from 6-9 PM.

Artwork must not exceed 12" x 12" x 12" in depth and must be professionally framed (except wall-mounted sculpture, canvas, and wood panels). All work must be wired or have a cleat attachment and ready for hanging. Artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping of artwork and must provide their own insurance. All artwork must be priced for sale, and Site:Brooklyn retains a 50% commission on exhibition sales. Artwork cannot be withdrawn or shipped before the end of the exhibit. The juror is Heather Darcy Bhandari, an independent curator and adjunct lecturer at Brown University.
