Slice: A Juried Cross Section of Regional Art 2014

Slice: A Juried Cross Section of Regional Art is a juried exhibition at Pence Gallery in Davis, California. The exhibition runs June 29 – August 24, 2014, with a reception and award ceremony on Friday, July 11, 6-9 PM. The gallery is a nonprofit established in 1975 that exhibits high caliber art by local and regional artists.

This exhibition is open to all California artists working in any medium. Work must be conceptually thoughtful, technically skilled, and representative of contemporary trends in art. Wall work must be 4 feet wide maximum and not exceed 50 pounds, and must be ready to install. Framed work must be pre-wired with no sawtooth hangers. The entry fee is $35 (non-refundable) for up to three works of art ($30 for Pence members). Each work may include one detail picture. Monetary awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes will be awarded based on the juror's choice. The juror is Carrie Lederer, Curator of Exhibitions and Programs at the Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek.

Accepted work may be hand-delivered or shipped and insured by the artist. Shipping expenses are the artist's responsibility. The Pence Gallery will insure all artwork while on premises through August 24th. Work must be picked up by August 26. Sales are encouraged; the Pence Gallery retains a 40% commission on all work sold. Prices quoted on the entry form may not be changed after acceptance. Notification of acceptance will be by June 4.
