About This Call
Skyway: A Contemporary Collaboration invites all artists residing in Florida's Hillsborough, Manatee, Pinellas, and Sarasota Counties to submit entries for exhibition. Selected artists will exhibit recent work at one of three participating institutions: the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, and the Tampa Museum of Art. The exhibition runs June 24 – October 15, 2017, with opening receptions held at each institution the week of June 19th, 2017.
Artists are encouraged to submit any original artwork, including paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, photography, video, performance, and site-specific installations. Only original works completed after January 2016 are eligible. There is no entry fee. Submissions are accepted November 1 – December 15, 2016. Selected artists will be notified by email February 1, 2017. Submissions must include a 200–500 word artist statement, a 1–2 page CV with recent exhibition history, and a portfolio of 3–5 JPEG images (maximum 5MB each). Artists may also submit links to audio or video files. Image files should be named: Image#_Lastname_Firstname_Title of Work.
Accepted artists are responsible for all shipping arrangements and expenses, with round-trip shipping pre-paid. Artwork must be delivered by June 1, 2017, and picked up by November 1, 2017. Artwork not picked up by 12PM on November 1, 2017, will be subject to storage charges of $20 plus $5 per additional day. Any artwork not retrieved by November 15, 2017, will be considered a donation. Large-scale works and installations may be subject to size and weight restrictions. The decisions of the museum curators and visiting juror are final.
