About This Call
The City of Millcreek, in collaboration with the Millcreek Arts Council and Cottonwood Residential, is seeking to commission an artist or artist-led team to create an iconic art installation for Millcreek Common. The project consists of a mural and/or sculptural installation on a portion of the north façade of the Westerly, a mixed-use building adjacent to City Hall, and along the east façade of the parking structure. The Art Work will occupy up to two spaces: a north façade wall finished in off-white metal panel that is nearly 43' tall and 27' wide (approximately 1,200 square feet), and an east façade concrete wall that is nearly 42' tall and 10' wide (approximately 400 square feet).
The project budget is up to $115,000, intended to cover all related expenses including artist fees, fabrication, insurance, shipping, travel, installation, and documentation. Applicants must submit a Letter of Interest with legal name, email address, and contact information indicating whether they are proposing a mural or sculptural project. Responses shall also include a bio, resume, or curriculum vitae with up to ten images or movie files of previous work demonstrating similar scope or scale; a narrative description of the artist's work approach and preliminary vision for the project; and references from government or private agencies for which the proposer has provided similar services.
This request is open to artists and artist teams residing in the United States. Utah artists are strongly encouraged to apply. Evaluation Committee Members and immediate families, as well as employees of Millcreek or Cottonwood Residential, are not eligible to submit a response. Applicants must submit 1-10 images or samples through CallForEntry.
