Simply Watercolor

RIWS Presents: Simply Watercolor, a juried exhibition open to all artists in the United States. The show features over $400 in cash prizes and accepts 1-3 watercolor entries only.

Eligibility Requirements: Work must be painted in watercolor on acceptable surfaces (watercolor paper, toned watercolor paper, Yupo, canvas paper, illustration board, watercolor board, or rice paper). Acceptable mediums include watercolor, gouache, and watercolor mediums, with water-based ink, watercolor pencils, and water-based iridescent paints permitted up to 20%. Work must have been completed within the last 10 years, not copied from copyrighted material, and not previously exhibited in a Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show. Work must not exceed 48 inches on its longest side (including frame). All work must be framed under glass or Plexiglass (Plexiglass required for pieces larger than 36 inches) and wired for hanging.

Submission Details: Submit 1-3 digital images. Entry fee is $20 per entry for non-members, $15 per entry for members. Drop-off/delivery: October 18-November 7. Exhibition dates: November 9-December 13, with opening reception Saturday, November 16. Accepted entries will be notified October 17. Pickup date: December 13. Return shipping: December 14-January 4. Ship work to: Rhode Island Watercolor Society, 831 Armistice Blvd., Pawtucket, RI 02861. Include a pre-paid return label and send tracking number to [email protected] with subject line "Simply Watercolor Tracking." The Rhode Island Watercolor Society receives 35% of sales. No accepted entry may be withdrawn prior to the close of the exhibition.
