About This Call
Coastal Arts League presents Signs of Spring - Painting & Drawing Show 2026, running March 27 – April 27, 2026. This exhibition features painting and drawing in the following media categories: Watercolor, Oil, Acrylic, Gouache, and Pastel. Photographs and prints are not accepted. The theme is Signs of Spring.
Eligibility is open to regional artists, 18 years and older, living in the SF Bay Area. Submissions must be original work of the artist. All exhibited work must be for sale and not recently displayed in this gallery. Entries must be hand-delivered and picked up. 2-D artwork is not to exceed 36" in width. Gallery wrapped canvas must be a minimum of 1" in depth. Use plexiglass in framed pieces larger than 24 x 30". Hanging wire with 2" of slack is preferred, but professionally installed cleats are acceptable on metal artworks.
Entry deadline is March 1, 2026. Artwork delivery is March 23, Noon - 4 pm. Reception is March 28, 1 - 4 pm. Artwork pickup is April 27, Noon - 4 pm. Entry fees: Members $45 for the first entry, plus $5 for each additional entry up to 3. Non-members $55 for the first entry, plus $5 for each additional entry up to 3. Three Merit Awards will be given: $150, $100, and $50. Jurors to be announced. If accepted, bring an 8.5 x 11 page with your artist's statement and contact details on white paper for the Book of Artists. Images of the artist at work are encouraged. Coastal Arts League collects sales tax and retains a 40% commission to support gallery programs. 60% of the purchase price is remitted to the artist at the close of the show. Coastal Arts League accepts no liability for loss or damage to pieces in the show. Security cameras are installed in the galleries to discourage theft. You are granting Coastal Arts League permission to use entered work for promotion on the website and for future shows. All rights to submitted images remain the property of the artist.
