About This Call
Gallerium invites artists to participate in Signs and Symbols 2025, the 2nd annual juried exhibition exploring signs and symbols through visual art. Signs and symbols are universal languages that transcend cultural and linguistic boundaries. In visual art, signs are direct communicators representing specific objects, ideas, or concepts, while symbols touch on the metaphorical and abstract, evoking deeper emotions and requiring introspection.
Artists are encouraged to draw inspiration from cultural heritage, personal experiences, or global perspectives. Possible themes include cultural symbols, personal narratives, nature's symbols, universal signs, abstract representations, and contemporary social commentary. Submit up to 6 artworks; maximum two artworks will be accepted from each artist. Work samples must be images (minimum 1, maximum 6).
Selected artworks will be showcased in an online group exhibition from February 15 to April 15, 2025, and published in The Book of Arts: Signs and Symbols. The online version of the book is free; high-quality print editions can be ordered. Selected artworks will also be promoted for sale via the online exhibition, included in an exhibition catalogue, and may be selected for publication in Artistonish and Observica magazines. All selected artists receive a digital certificate and free online profile page on the Biafarin platform. Submission is free; selected artists pay a USD 40 selection fee (USD 34 with early bird discount). A money-back guarantee is available until the exhibition's official opening day.
