About This Call
Gallerium presents Signs and Symbols 2024, a dual art exhibition and publication exploring signs and symbols in art. Signs and symbols are universal visual language that convey meaning through colors, shapes, patterns, structure, scale, and composition. In visual art, signs are visual representations that directly refer to specific objects, ideas, or concepts with conventional meanings, while symbols carry deeper, more complex meanings requiring interpretation and contextual understanding. A combination or solo use of signs and symbols is encouraged, drawing inspiration from cultural heritage, personal experiences, or global perspectives. Abstract and representational artwork in any 2D or 3D art medium is welcomed.
Selected artworks will be published in The Book of Arts: Signs and Symbols publication series and showcased in the Signs and Symbols international online group exhibition from January 10 to March 10, 2024. The online version of the book will be available for free, while high-quality print editions can be ordered. Selected artworks will also be published in a stylish colorful exhibition catalogue, promoted internationally, and available to art experts, galleries, curators, businesses, and enthusiasts. Selected artists will receive a digital certificate, online profile page on the Biafarin platform, exhibition poster link, promotional badges, and regular reports containing visit statistics, reviews, and sales analytics. Some selected artists may be chosen for publication in Artistonish and Observica magazines.
Submission is free. If selected, a USD 40 selection fee applies, supported by a money-back guarantee until the exhibition opening. Artists can submit up to 5 artworks; maximum 2 artworks will be accepted per artist. Artworks must be original, entirely the work of the entrant, and not copies or derivatives of copyrighted work. Artists must have all rights for presenting and publishing artworks internationally. Artworks created within the last 5 years are preferred. There is no size limit or style restriction. This opportunity is open to all visual artists worldwide creating original work in painting, drawing, printmaking, illustration, photography, digital arts, sculpture, metalsmithing, installation, crafts, jewelry, glass art, paper art, book art, fiber art, textile art, collage, graphic arts, design, and mixed media.
