Showers of Color

Showers of Color is an exhibition hosted by the Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society at Great Bear Coffee Roasting in Los Gatos, CA, running April 2–30, 2026. The exhibition is open to all water media artists on paper, canvas, or cradle board, and may include some use of collage. Artwork must have been completed in the last 3 years and not previously exhibited in a SCVWS show.

Eligibility requires current SCVWS membership with dues paid by the registration deadline. Artists may submit up to 3 paintings. Entry fees are $30 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry for SCVWS members. Up to 2 entries per artist may be accepted depending on total submissions received. Artwork must be framed with a minimum size of 11" x 14" and maximum of 24" x 28". Plexi glazing only is allowed (no glass). Artwork must be labeled on the back with artist name, title, price, email address, and phone number.

Registration closes March 24, 2026 at midnight through the ShowSubmit website. Digital photo submissions must be in JPG format, at least 1,500 pixels on the longest side, under 30mb, clearly focused, and cropped to show only the artwork without mat or frame. Notifications will be emailed and posted in ShowSubmit accounts by March 27, 2026. Prizes include Best in Show ($100) and People's Choice ($50). All insurance is the responsibility of the artist. Sales are between artist and buyer; SCVWS does not take commission.
