Showcase Noir 2013

Showcase Noir is a juried art fair emphasizing high-quality artwork created by contemporary African American artists. The event takes place June 8-9, 2013 in Downtown Pittsburgh's Cultural District, with display space consisting of a 6-foot table and 2 chairs located on Penn Avenue and Eighth Street during the Pittsburgh Jazz Live International Festival and Three Rivers Arts Festival.

Artists must submit a completed application, artist biography, and digital images (1-3 images) of their work. The application deadline is April 24, 2013. Application fee is $0; display fee of $50 is due upon acceptance. All work must be original, handmade by the applicant, and representative of work to be displayed for sale or available for order. Work created from commercial molds, kits, patterns, or copyrighted designs not owned by the artist are not permitted. Accepted medium categories include ceramic, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, musical instruments, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and wood.

Artists must be present during the entire event (Saturday 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Sunday 12:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.). No commercial agents, dealers, or salespeople may operate the booth. Collaborations are permitted if disclosed in the application. Jurors' decisions will be announced May 1, 2013. Cancellations must be received in writing by May 15, 2013.
