About This Call
Shoebox Lab offers a 6-week professional development workshop conducted via Zoom. Open enrollment through 10:59 PM PST on Sunday, March 5th, 2023. Tuition is $450 (nonrefundable) and must be paid in full prior to the start of the workshop.
Weekly virtual group meetings are held Mondays 6pm PST from March 6 through April 10th. Each session focuses on different aspects of professional development for artists, including getting your work out there, portfolio tips, websites, social media, pricing, sales, gallery representation, creating your own opportunities, art fairs, exhibition proposals, social anxiety, and rejection. Meetings are not recorded; participants receive a PDF copy after each session.
The workshop includes a virtual studio visit exchange where participants are paired with another artist in the group for virtual studio visits. Participants are also paired with an accountability partner to work together on tools covered in the workshop. Additional benefits include access to an exclusive Facebook group (Shoebox Lab community), a bi-weekly call-for-art subscription featuring researched calls for art, grants and residencies, mentorship and community support, early access to exhibition/event opportunities, and a 25% discount on individual 1-hour consultations during the workshop duration. Eligibility: US resident, 18 and over.
