Shock of the New West 2020

The Tubac Center of the Arts presents Shock of the New West, an exhibition that seeks to blend current trends in contemporary art and western themes. Artists are encouraged to imagine traditional western themes in creative ways and to enter work which is innovative in concept and approach, whether representational or abstract. Work must have been completed within the last 36 months. Work that has been previously displayed at TCA is not eligible. All work must be the original creation of the artist. Giclee reproductions are not permitted.

Entry fee is $33 for the first image and $5 for each additional image (up to 4 works may be entered). TCA Members receive a $5 discount with discount code Howdy20. All artwork must arrive in a condition ready to professionally display or hang. If framed, work must be suitably matted (white, black or neutral colors preferred), simply framed and firmly wired. No sawtooth hangers. All work must be for sale. TCA will retain a 40% commission.

Artist Cody DeLong of Jerome, Arizona will jury this exhibition. Awards include: Best of Show $500, Award of Excellence $300, Award of Merit $100, Juror's Award $100, and Honorable Mention $75. Exhibition dates are January 10 to February 16, 2020. Jury date is the week of December 2, 2019, with artist notification on December 8, 2019. Shipped and hand-delivered art is due January 6, 2020. All unsold art must be picked up on February 17, 2020, with shipped art returned the following week. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA and must provide a prepaid barcoded shipping label for return of artwork.
