Shoals Art Invitational Juried Exhibition

The University of North Alabama Elaine Bailey Augustine Art Gallery invites artists 18 or older residing in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia to participate in the Shoals Art Invitational, a regional juried works-on-paper exhibition. Artists may submit up to three original works created within the past two years. Works must be created in any art medium on paper or with paper; digital prints and AI-generated images are not permitted.

The entry fee is $35 for up to three entries. Digital submissions must be in JPEG or JPG format with a minimum of 1,200 pixels on the longest side and file size under 5 MB. Image files should be labeled with the title followed by the medium (e.g., "Kitchen Table–Digital Photography"). The digital entry deadline is September 3, 2024. Artists will be notified of acceptance by September 8, 2024. Accepted works must be shipped by September 19, 2024, to the University of North Alabama Department of Visual Arts and Design, 120 Dormitory Drive, Florence, AL 35632-0001. Hand deliveries are accepted September 17-19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All accepted works must be shipped in reusable packing cartons with prepaid return shipping labels.

The exhibition will be on view from September 23 to October 25, 2024. A public reception and gallery talk will be held on September 23, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. The juror is Marie Bukowski, Dean and Professor of the College of Fine Arts at Wichita State University. A sum of $5,000 is allocated for purchase awards. Return shipping begins October 31, 2024.
