Shapes of Influence 2025

Shapes of Influence 2025 is a juried exhibition showcasing contemporary ceramics. The Springfield Art Association's M. G. Nelson Family Gallery offers nearly 1,400 square feet of exhibition space in Springfield, Illinois. Cash prizes of $500, $300, and $200 will be awarded. The Springfield Art Association is the oldest visual arts organization in Central Illinois and is dedicated to the support and promotion of the visual arts.

The exhibition is open to all artists living in the United States working in ceramics who are 18 years of age or older. Accepted media includes contemporary ceramics, functional or sculptural works, mixed media (at least 50% clay), and time-based media related to ceramic processes/clay. Artists may submit up to three different pieces, with one image per piece. The entry fee is $30 (members of the Springfield Art Association pay $25). All artwork is insured while in the possession of the SAA; artists are responsible for insurance on inbound and outbound shipping. The Springfield Art Association will retain a 35% commission on any work sold during the exhibition.

Entry Deadline: February 17, 2025. Notification of acceptance: February 24. Artwork must be received between March 14-22, 2025. Exhibition opens March 28 with an opening reception from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and closes April 26. The juror is Ellen Kleckner, an artist and educator living in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Executive Director of the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio.
