Shapes of Influence 2016

Shapes of Influence 2016 is a juried exhibition of contemporary ceramics hosted by the Springfield Art Association at the M. G. Nelson Family Gallery in Springfield, Illinois. The gallery offers nearly 1400 square feet of high quality exhibition space. Cash prizes of $500, $300, and $200 will be awarded.

All entries must include ceramic components. Submissions are accepted online through Call for Entry (CaFE). The entry fee is $30 (or $15 for Springfield Art Association members). Artists may submit 1-3 images. The deadline for entries is May 15, 2016. Accepted artists will be notified on May 30. Work must be received between July 18 and August 1, 2016. The exhibition opens August 5 with an opening reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and closes September 3.

Works need not be for sale; however, the Springfield Art Association will retain a 35% commission on any work sold during the exhibition. All artwork is insured while in the possession of the SAA. Artists are responsible for insurance on inbound and outbound shipping. Artwork must be shipped via UPS, FedEx, or USPS in a sturdy, reusable container with prepaid return shipping charges included. Hand-delivered work must arrive during office hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The juror is Erin Furimsky, who teaches ceramics at Heartland Community College in Normal, Illinois.
