Shape/Form/Structure

Site:Brooklyn is presenting an online juried exhibition titled Shape/Form/Structure, running August 16 – September 16, 2023. The exhibition seeks work across all media that takes shape, form, and structure as its guiding principle. Shape defines what we see and how we see it, structuring and giving form to our world. Despite existing in both idealized configurations and material reality, shape remains one of the least explored yet fundamental aspects of visual life. This call reassesses the assumption that shape and its relationship to form and structure are mere vessels for subject, color, or concept.

The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age or older working in any media. Submissions must include 3–9 images and up to 3 videos. Entry fee is $26.00 for three images, with an additional $10.00 media fee per additional image. Only original works may be submitted. The final submission deadline is July 17, 2023 at 11:59 PM MT. Artists will be notified on July 25, 2023.

All artwork must be priced for sale and available throughout the exhibition. Artists will retain a 60% commission on all sales. Once accepted, artists must upload high-resolution photo files of their work. For questions, contact [email protected]. The juror is Elizabeth Rooklidge, an independent curator, writer, and educator based in San Diego, CA, who previously served as Assistant Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego and Associate Curator at the Katonah Museum of Art.
