Shape, Form and Color: Modern Expressionism

The UNCLE Credit Union Art Gallery at the Bankhead Theater is inviting visual expressionist artists working with paint on canvas, mixed media on canvas, or fine art paper to submit work for an exhibition running October 5 through December 4, 2022. The exhibition will be curated by visual arts staff at Livermore Valley Arts. All subject matter and points of inspiration are welcome, and large works are encouraged. The gallery will feature two loaned works by Joan Miro and Alexander Calder from a private collection.

Submissions must include 1-3 images of work samples. The entry fee is $25.00. Accepted artists will be notified before September 28, 2022. Delivery of accepted work is required on Tuesday, October 4 between 10am-12noon. All work must be wired and ready to hang using "D" hooks or nails. A label should be attached to the back of each artwork listing the artist's name, title, price, and medium. Work must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition. Pickup is Tuesday, December 6, 2022 between 10am-noon.

Livermore Valley Arts handles all sales. Artists receive 70% of sales proceeds and the gallery retains 30%. Artists are responsible for paying sales tax and must complete a W-9 form for payment. The gallery does not provide insurance for damaged or stolen work. A release form waiving liability must be signed upon delivery. The gallery is open Thursday-Sundays 1-5pm and during ticketed performances. A public reception is scheduled for Saturday, October 22, 1-3:30pm.
