About This Call
For over fifty years, Septemberfest has presented an exposition of high quality arts and crafts by national artists and craftspersons on the grounds of the Museum of the Southwest in Midland, Texas. The event is open to individual artists and craftspersons presenting their own individual work. No galleries, studios, agents or anyone representing an artist will be eligible. Selection is based on quality of work, and the selection committee will consist of a panel of art professionals from the Museum and board members.
The show is held outdoors on the grounds of the Museum of the Southwest. Artists must provide their own displays and white canopy tents and are responsible for set-up and display. Electricity is provided by the venue. Single booths are $250, double booths are $350, and shared space is $200 per artist. Security is provided continuously 24 hours a day. Festival hours are Friday preview party from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Artists must be present to show their own work. All work must be original and handmade by the applicant - no commercially manufactured items, supplies, or kits are allowed. Specific standards apply to each medium: ceramics must be wheel-thrown or hand-built only, jewelry must be designed and handmade by applicant, and reproductions including giclees must be clearly labeled and sold in conjunction with original pieces. Artists will be notified of acceptance, rejection, or waitlist status no later than August 8, 2025.
